I am testing hosting a chat server on CryptoSuite. I had to configure my router and want to test my setup.

    Server: 66.56.185.26
    Port: 5094
    Password: magic

Anyone who wishes may stop by... I am leaving it up for a while and will be in and out.... If I have everything configured properly, then I will hopefully see you there ;) .....

Please reply if you are not able to enter so I can go over my settings....

    Regards,
    Kent

    Hi Kent,

    I cannot connect.

If you haven't already done so I would recommend that you

Reboot the router (sometimes they have trouble dynamically applying newly configured rules and need a reboot to help them a bit)

Temporarily disable LnS just to confirm that it is not in the way

    No go here Kent.
Have you port forwarded to your PC's IP?
What you need to do is put 5094 in your DMZ and then forward it to you IP

There are more explicit instructions that I wrote for routers in the CS help file

Here is a screanie. Your firewall will need to allow lots of tcp remote ports.
Not I have opened ports for three IPs for different pc's

It is called virtual server in this router in the Linksys it is called Port forwarding.

Your firewall will need to allowall remote ports above about 1000 to see your port 5094

On my D-link DI-604, my DMZ is a little different.... I think I accomplished the port forwarding in the above steps....

In my DMZ, it appears that I can only put an entire pc into the DMZ.....

    Regards,
    Kent

Take no notice of the DMZ setting that is my "Blackhole" no PC there so every unwanted packet disappears into it ;)
If you add a ficticious PC Number there that is not in use and enable you will have instant stealth on any test site :)

Hi Blazey, Just checked and it is working fine. :)

Make sure you change the port number from the default 5094 to 5096 & that the PW is in lower case pc2 also thet your Nick uses legal characters.
