Just to clarify, you're using a remote proxy (like anonymizer.com or just free remote proxies that you find on a list) and your own IP assigned by your ISP is still showing? And not all remote proxies for internet browsing provide anonymity. Some info here: http://computercops.biz/article2235.html

It'd be helpful if you provided more info about what you're using. But if your using an anon proxy intended just for your internet browsing, that may work for your browser, but it wouldn't specifically cover the email client or chat client on your PC.

If you're sending email from your PC through your ISP without going through some anonymzing service, of course your IP will show. You'd need an anonymous remailer to send email that doesn't show its original source. Some info here, for example: http://www.andrebacard.com/remail.html

Similarly with a chat client if you're using something like AIM, if it's not specifically going through a remote proxy service that covers chat, your ISP's assigned IP will show.

Anonymizer.com provides a service that would appear to provide what you want: http://www.anonymizer.com/totalnetshield/
