I am using Syncthing, and it's an excellent file synchronization tool. HIGHLY recommended!

It uses TLS encryption (asymmetric crypto w/ key exchange), so all data exchanged between your devices is encrypted in transit ... but is unencrypted on all devices. This is an important distinction. If one of your devices is an untrusted machine such as a VPS server in the cloud, the data is encrypted during transmission, but is stored unencrypted on that remote node.

The feature to store encrypted on untrusted nodes is frequently requested by Syncthing users, but it is not implemented at this time.
