After loading and installing spywareblaster an error box appeared saying 'The program has been damaged, possibly by a bad sector of the hard drive or a virus. Please reinstall it.'
I reinstalled it twice and got the same error box. Also, I had the spywareblaster already installed when this damage happened.(It took one for the team?) I even uninstalled this first installation and reinstalled to no avail.
I have a Windows 95 laptop, 4.0 browser. It has been working fine with spywareblaster including the updates, but know this. Can anyone help me?
    Thanks, PZ

    Hi pz33333,

From Javacool's on-line FAQ - Troubleshooting: Error message: "This program has been damaged..."

As suggested in the above FAQ, (if you have not done this yet) try downloading a new SpywareBlaster package, uninstall the old one, reboot and remove the old SpywareBlaster folder, then install the new one. If that doesn't resolve the problem, then the next step would be to go to one of the sites that do HijackThis analysis and post a HijackThis log for a deeper look to rule out malware as the culprit.

We have seen this error message quite frequently with systems that have become infected with malware.

As we no longer do Hijackthis Log review here, you can choose one of the sites that do HijackThis log review at the following sites:

    CastleCops
    Net-Integration
    TomCoyote
    SpywareInfo
    geekstogo
    Gladiator Security Forum

Be sure and read their posting policy and guidelines before posting a HijackThis log.

Let us know how you make out.

    Regards,

    snap
