Does make a difference when something in the background is hogging CPU. Make it easier for me to multitask while scanning/defragging/backing up/etc.

I can't say it makes my already stable system even more stable but it has some other useful features though.

I find it helpful, especially after the computer first displays the desktop and is still loading startup apps. PL keeps the system more responsive. It will also help curb problems apps that try to grab all the cpu cycles. Checkout the free version.

And by the way, the update to 5.0.0.45 was not "pushed" meaning it isn't available via the internal updater (in case that's confusing anybody :) )

Plain hate, no reason. I severely dislike such useless comments. Tell me how lowering the priority of CPU-consuming processes is "snake oil".

Another snakeoil comment. Without elaboration like all.

Care to elaborate? There's only one question, and that's "does changing a process' priority alter the CPU resources it receives?" I believe the answer is yes, and that's all that Process Lasso essentially does. What's the problem?

Process Lasso is subtle - it doesn't make a system faster, it just improves multitasking by preventing apps from misbehaving (grabbing too much cpu and not letting go). I use it on both my laptop and desktop, but I notice the benefit on my laptop more because it's less powerful. If you think it's your imagination try uninstalling for a while and see what happens
