From the latest Nightly builds of Process Hacker, all plugins (except sandboxie plugin) are all compiled with Control Flow Guard (CFG) (https://github.com/processhacker2/processhacker2/commit/c7fc42e3041fb8eb466c2abaaaa51765c1c6369a). The main Process Hacker binaries are not compiled with CFG yet though, just the plugins at the moment. I believe that Process Hacker 3.0 is not too far off now. I have been using the Nightly builds for a while now.

 

I noticed that since v3.0.6xx the file plugins\SbieSupport.dll is missing from the .zip-files that they are providing.
And i couldn't see any reference for SbieSupport.dll in the source-code (and the plugin stopped working with v3.0.651)
It seems that the plugin is not supported anymore.

 

I was testing processhacker-3.0.651-bin recently and it included SbieSupport.dll still, however it failed to load that specific plugin and caused an error. So it looks like it may not be supported anymore, or may not support CFG in order to function correctly.

 

The plugin SbieSupport was removed 14 days ago:

 

@mood You are right, my apologies. I was often extracting the Nightly binaries into the same testing folder and therefore that explains why I had the older plugin left behind. Sorry for any misunderstandings.

It fails to install over my 3.0.651. Probably interfering with my settings, I hope it is not permanent.

 

Delete the old installer "c:\Program Files\Process Hacker\processhacker-setup.exe" before you try to install a new version. It should work now.

Thanks, that did the trick. Left/right click on the systray icon does not work in this version though.

 

Yes, i have experienced it too.
Clicking on the systray is not working with build .700
I had some older builds on hard disk, so i reverted back to an older nightly.
Edit: The systray-issue is mentioned there and it has been fixed:

Edit 2: A newer build was released today
Edit 3: the setup-issue #42 has been fixed with .726. And the builds are now CFG-enabled

Process Hacker nightlies seems to be unsigned, which means they can't elevate on my system.

 

The stable release will be signed.
Selecting "Show details for all processes" is not possible with the nightly (if the ValidateAdminCodeSignatures-"tweak" [see #21 #75] has been applied to the system)
But if Process Hacker needs to be elevated, it can be started from an elevated filemanager.
