    Hi

I just started getting a dos (cmd) window at startup.

The window is titled C:\Program Files\ProcessGuard\pg_msgprot.exe.
The window is blank and closes approx. 20 to 30 sec.

This only happens at start up. If the gui and service are closed and then restarted this does not happen.

this does not appear to cause a problem with the operation of the program.

ver 1.30 with update. Win XPpro sp1 updated
    please see attach.

    Regards

It was en error in an old beta (not public) and it's weird that it happens again.
Did you have any previous PG version installed ? Do you use the trial or full version ?

Yes, This window does appear briefly on start up, it does not effect functionallity, It probably shows longer on slower PC's. The start up time is related to the fact that there are many other services / processes firing up on boot.

    Re:processGuard dos window

    Hi

    Thanks for the input.
I have been running ProcessGuard since it was first released.

    Running a P4 @2.1 with 512Mb PC-2700.

This computer runs 10 to 15 hrs a day 7/days with little or no problems.

Outpost 2.1, TDS3, PG, PE, Kav 5.065 etc. But only PG and Kav run at startup. Every thing is updated.

I also started a thread with a problem in PortExplorer. I don’t know if it is related.

    I’m a little mystified? :)

    Regards

    Hi

Thanks go out to Pilli for his posting of Tips, Tricks & FAQ's.

Reviewing Jasons post on uninstall I found 2 instances of PGUARD.dat.
Deleting both at uninstall and reinstalling corrected the problem and now PG starts very fast.

    Thanks to all

    Regards
