Process ekrn.exe downloading lots of data

    Recently I installed NetLimiter 2 on my computer and found that along with my other downloading processes (eg Utorrent, Firefox) ekrn uses significantly more download, as demonstrated below.

    I was wondering why it has to send and receive lots of data?

    That's because you're using WinXP where all HTTP traffic is routed via ekrn for scanning. You wouldn't have this problem with Vista SP1 or newer OS.
