Problems...with this forum AND lop.com

hello all...
haven't been here in quite awhile...
but I see that I can no longer post anything in the spyware/hijack forum -- why is that?
nor, can I post even in the general forum just above it -- why is that?

so..here I am.

I believe that I can work my way (at least the first time) thru a removal of lop.com -- but I note that I am UNABLE to download the files -- either for the search asst or the toolbar from the lop.com site. When I click on same, I get a dialog that opens and says "Sorry, your current security settings donot allow you to download this file.."

And when I see the files, here on this forum and click here -- same dialog.

Why is that? Does my lop.com infection STOP me from being able to do this?

Anyone got these two files and could ZIP them for me?

Your first answer is at the top of the forum in the announcement section.

In regards to the rest I personally do not know.

 

Concerning lop.com....are you by chance using a program that places lop.com in the Restricted Zone....SpywareBlaster, Spybot, IE-Spyad....etc ?

going by what was posted here...

I already read that Announcement -- I do NOT want to post any HiJack items...what I WANT to do is simply use the methods couched here to get rid of lop.com -- AND -- be able to get those files...

I still can NOT download those files -- same error message!!!

Can anyone offer -- is this a function of the lop.com infestation? That is, will IT not let me download the cure

Lastly, this forum HAS been a real boon to many of us -- skilled and unskilled in computer basics....while I understand your Announcement, and realize that it is in your own best interests to STOP providing so much help -- surely there might be a better way to offer someone else to help than merely dumping us at a list of 'others...'

Restricted zone...

thanks for the cryptic clue....eventuallly I figured out that if lop.com WAS listed in same under Tools > Options > Security, I wouldn't be allowed to d/l from same...

sounds like the kind of thing that might go in a FAQ...eh?

Not sure what you mean by cryptic clue ?
It was a fairly simple question of was it in your Restricted Zone....which would cause the problem you were experiencing. Best I can tell from your answer is that you no longer have a problem downloading what you wanted ?
