problem with spywareblaster

i tried to update it the other day and it actually gave me an update with my definitions still sitting at 3758, then after the updates i had
84 - internet explorer updates
9 - restricted sites
0 - for explorer
after enabling them, my computer started acting whacky
couldn't left click anything, couldn't open any program...just weird
had to go into safe mode, do a system restore
when going into safe mode i had the option of pressing ESC to not run vax347b.exe...is this associated with swblaster?
anyways, i had to uinstall it and and reinstall it, now im sitting at 3750...im not going to update it, till i know what's going on.
