    Hi,
I am running the latest beta of PG and when I try to run Pinnacle Liquid edition it fails, PG3 shows the following

    Driver/Service services.exe Tried to install a driver/service named PCD5CX2

If I grant services.exe 'Install driver services' then all is well, but this will remove the Root kit protection which is so valuable. Is there a work around other than changing the privs for services each time I run Liquid edition?

Would it be possible to have 'dynamic privs' for an application in the future. ie when I run Liquid it has a rule which says something like this

    1) temporarly give services.exe driver install privs
    2) run Liquid edition
    3) Revoke driver install privs for Services

    Thanks
    Tom

Hi Frogfoot, Probably the best way is to add pcd5cx2.exe ? or whatever the main pinnacle .exe is to the protection list and give it the install driver / service Allow, this way you can remove the Allow from services.

Give it a try. Pilli :)

I have already tried this, but to no avail. It seems that Edition.exe uses services.exe to 'do its dirty work' with regard to installing the driver.

    Thanks for the reply though.
