    Hello,

I have a problem transfering my SBS2003R2 to a virtual machine running on the MS Virtual Server 2005 R2. I created an image of the whole hard dirve. Then I converted this image (tib) to *.vhd file. Now, if I try to boot the VM with the created *.vhd, I get a (virtual) blue screen saying that something is wrong with the hard drive.
The Acronis Log looks normal except the warning:
    <event code="1900954" id="31" level="3" message="LocateSourceFile: Unable locate disk description for ntoskrnl.exe" module="29" time="1238712130" />

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Dmitry,

I followed exactly the path of the first article, as I use VirtualServer 2005 R2 on WinXP and NOT Hyper-V. The *.vhd file has been created without problems, but the start in a virtual machine crashes during the booting procedure.

    Thanks in advance.

Can you please clarify the exact title of the product and the build number? Can you boot using Safe Mode?

    Hello Dmitry,

I use Acronis True Image for SBS Build 8.084

Unfortunately the virtual hard drive crashes even, if I try to start the system in the safe mode.

    Thanks,
    Juri

    Hello Juri,

Thank you for using Acronis Corporate Products

Please try to recover the image to the virtual machine using Acronis Booting Rescue Media with AUR, the convert operation uses the same algorithm.

    Thank you.

    Hello Oleg,

I managed to solve the problem by injecting the VM-SCSI drivers into the OS before converting it to the virtual hard drive.

    Thanks and regards,
    Juri
