obviously, but there has been a problem so we dont. soon we will have them again, for now you have the best heuristics in the AV market (IMO). stay away from any dodgy sites and dont open any suspect attachments and you'll survive, i'm sure

I wouldn't feel that confident with that outdated of defs, considering how many mytob variants have flooded the internet in recent weeks

mytob was picked up by nod32 heuristics before most other AVs. I'm not worried by this :D

I have 2 licenses / 2 systems, set up and upgraded similarly.

On one the defs are 5/3/05

On the other they are 6/21/05

With the latter, if you hit update--EVERY time it will download an update and report 6/21/05 (the same defs).

the update screen in NOD will show more than 400kb/284kb (that's 400kb OUT OF 284 completeo_O)

My cousin had the 5/3 defs on his system. He uninstalled and reinstalled NOD32 and the defs then came in correctly at 6/21, but he has the problem as above, where NOD will continually download the same update.

I know Eset will take care of this.

lee1276 , I do realize that when I purchased Nod32 Antivirus System that it has excellent heuristic capabilities, I'm just not so sure I want to test them out that badly, true it may still may catch most of the malware in recent weeks, or at least back to 6/16 when the advanced heuristics module is dated..... even still there are malware type that are new since then and am not interested in playing that game of how do I remove it when its on a machine

Just recieved another automatic update from ESET. It still putting out 1.1087.
Would i be right in saying that since these updates are incremental all the previous updates are still active.
lee1276 have you had any more auto updates...Cliff..cumbria ,UK

Mine keeps on picking up false positives that were fixed a while back. It's a bit unnerving :(

Han just did a manual update 1.1150 now installed.. :D
ESET update info shows version's 1.1148 and 1.1149, I wonder if 1.1150 contains these updates.
Well done ESET for the quick response :D :D

tls66 - i was just saying that you have that extra level of protection that you may not have had with another AV.

I just came back to my computer after being gone all day and saw that NOD had updated to 1087 twice and was wondering what was going on. My event log shows 1.1147 then 1.1087 twice and then 1.1150. So I am assuming since it updated to 1.1150 everything is ok again and I have all the current defs?

Indeed, if you miss a few updates, when your system downloads the latest signature it also downloads everything you missed.

    Cheers :D

Well, it was ESET's fault, not ours. Nothing special.
