    I have tried Kaspersky Antivirus 5 (not pro), versions 5.0.156 and 5.0.227. When the Kaspersky icon in the taskbar loads, after a while, the prgram scans my floppy disk for about 2 seconds. Whatever i do at this moment ?(writing in notepad, right clicking on a file)the computer freezes and i reset it using ctrl+alt+del. This happens with both the 2 versions i mentioned before. My operating system is windows 98SE. Any ideas on how to prevent Kaspersky scanning the floppy?

    In KAV Personal there is a registry tweak you can apply to stop the bootup scan all together; this includes scanning the floppy; http://forums.useice.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=1;t=1664

    There is either a manual tweak;

    or you can download a file to add to your registry;
    You can find this file on the third page of the first thread above, eighth post down.

    Worth trying and I hope it works on your system.
