I´m using a trialversion. Worked fine for a couple of days, but now I´m unable to update.

Automatic update doesn´t work. When trying to update, manually, I get the followning message: "Your version of Nod32 is up to date"
Program indicates that my version of virus signature database is 1.990. I know there is a newer version. My log says "Error connecting to server". What do I do??

I´ve 20 days to go on my trial.

Found this in an other posting:

"During the weekends the updates don't work for trial users"

    True??

Marcos, thanks, according to the checklist I should be able to connect to the server, but.. nope.

"Should the problem persist, please contact the Eset's technical support."

I´m using a trialversion so I can´t get technical support. Right?

No, you can contact Eset's technical support even if you are not a registered user. When you do, please enclose also the information if you are able to ping our update servers (u1.eset.com, u2.eset.com, u3.eset.com, u4.eset.com, etc.).

Same deal for me. It says up to date version 1.990, when if you look on the main site its definetely not up to date. It was working fine the first 2 weeks.

I have 12 days left on trial. What is going on here?

I have asked Eset for further details as to why this is.

    Cheers :D

Commercial versions are up-to-date and do not have this issue, and as far as I can remember never ever have (well not since I have been using Nod32).

    Cheers :D

I think you will probably find that it was such a large update that Eset wanted to ensure their paying customers received the update without any possible issues, thus Trial version users are now seeing their versions updating...

    Cheers :D

I think esets server must be busy. I've tried 3 times to update. I'll get to about 2000kb or 2100kb and will lose the connection. I'm very patient though and will keep trying :D Here's the latest screenshot. Screenshot is in the test forum  Wouldn't let me upload it twice

Is 1.993 (20050207) the latest update? If so, I got 4 of them ? I can try and post a screenshot. It shows 2 updates,so confusing :D

That's nothing, I have 10, yes 10 of the same update.

when I tell it to update manually it always tries to get the same update (advheur0.nup)

It never downloads compleatly but NOD32 thinks it did and says it has updated...

Is this just happening with the trial versions? I just clicked on my update and within seconds it updated to 1.993 without a problem. Tried it again and it said Nod was up-to-date, which it is. I have registered versions on 3 separate pc's and all update without a problem, that's why I'm wondering if this is just happening to trial versions?

That's what I'm thinking. I have NOD32 on 2 machines and both have updated w/o problems.

humm...the only other thing I can think of is if it's a huge update, then those on dial-up might be having a bit of a glitch with their ISP? I'm on cable so it's quite fast.

    Hi daddyx,

I am not sure what the problem is; are you using a trial version or a registered version of NOD?

Not sure if this will help, but I'll post it anyways just in case.

In the Setup of Automatic Updates, I have it set to "My Profile" and for the Location I have "Choose Automatically", under Advanced -> internet connection, I have a check in the circle beside LAN, then under LAN servers connection setup -> I have "System account (default) checked. Basically it's the default settings when I installed NOD since I haven't changed any of those. (Under Proxy server I have nothing checked there.)

Edit to add - Just a thought, but try rebooting your computer and then try the update again. You never know. ;)

Hi Snapdragin. I'm on high speed cable, so the huge update isn't an issue. Looks as if this is only happening to those doing trial evaluations. :D

6016/608 Kb/s ADSL here so that's not the problem.

Yes I am on the trial.
