It seems that NOD is holding up the loading of most programs at boot. I believe that it is both loading and checking for updates at the same time. This has caused some programs to not load or not load correctly. It isn't a big problem, but I wish it wasn't so hoggish.

    I'm seeing this too.
    FTR: also on v2.71!

Recently installed NOD32 on a network, where some (lazy  ) users are used to start applications through the startup folder.
Now they have NOD32, and this "auto startup behaviour" cannot work anymore.
Of course: as system-administrator I say "that's nice" :D , but it's a little bit hard to explain.

At this moment I'm working on a IBM thinkvantage T60 notebook with windows XP-PRo SP2, fully patched.
Startup of Windows, with loggin into a Windows 2003 DC takes now > 5 minutes, which were 2-3 minutes....

So I agree: hopefully, some things can be done at this!

Greetings from a very cloudy Holland
