My 2 cents about this is that the documentation is lacking in a major way, there is a really out dated PDF (June, 08, 2013) you can hunt for, but even so, you should really update the PDF but also bake-in the Scan option descriptions better into the program so they show on hover or whatever. You also really need to explain better what each thing does, what is expected to happen when you clean something and what it means if you don't. Basically what you have done is just googled "MFT files" and used the first sentence to describe from the top result.

    Hello @Special,

I understand your point, indeed we need a better documentation and specially on cleanups performed by PrivaZer that no other PC cleaners have.
The documentation must be understandable to all, so it may look very basic...

    We will improve this, anyway.

Feel free to post your suggestions, comments and questions here.

Scheduled cleaning in 2.49 no longer has the option to Close when Completed.
When Completed, it just sits on the screen until the user clicks Close.
This may be related to the other issue cleaning Recent items from the taskbar but I'd prefer it be fixed in the next release rather than the next version.

Request: It would be nice to be able to specify both hours and minutes in the scheduled start time rather than just hours as is done now. This request can wait for the next version.

    Thanks,

    J

Help files are important but take a great deal of time to get right, in one language, more for multiple languages.
There are lots of Help files that should be brought up-to-date and made understandable for inexperienced folks.
Unfortunately when a company has a complex program with many options but not many staff because their income is too low, then the Help file is as good as it can be. Increased donations would help Help get better :thumb:

The 'Close on completion' was related to our Teamviewer session a few days ago.
You made a change during testing, I didn't notice so it wasn't reset.
The problem is the horizontal scrolling through the options, this isn't obvious at all and a drop down box would be better.
But if no drop down box, at least document the icon pointed to in the screenshot
    Thanks,
    J

Hi, today i used the windows search feature to look for "files Last Accessed" I was amazed to discover Hundreds of files etc etc of ALL descriptions. Nearly ALL of these i hadn't accessed for some time, & NOT since i last used Privazer anyway !

Why doesn't Privazer delete the records/logs etc that contain that info ?

Quite frankly, this "appears" to be a Major failing !

    Regards

It would be interesting to see if others can replicate this too

    Hello,

as far as I know, PrivaZer does not remove file info (modification date, last accessed, creation date...) of remaining files.
It only removes file info of files before securely deleting them (to prevent from recovery of any info on that file)
during a drive cleanup or a single file deletion.

    Hope it help.

Hi, well that's my point ! It would be a good thing if it did. Can you please add an option to erase that info, hopefully soon.

    Ok @CloneRanger,

added on our roadmap ! :thumb:

In the mean time you can use fsutil to "disable last access time" :
    fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 11

Many thanks for your bountiful suggestions & help.

Thanx for the fsutil advice, & putting my suggestion on your roadmap :thumb:

You posted "fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 11" but i think it should be, fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 1, according to several www's ?

For those who may decide to DisableLastAccess, a heads up from another www.

So after I run Privazer, folder, files, Truecypt folders still retain the last time they were accessed? I didn't know this.

I bet Shadow Defender takes care of this after a reboot from Shadow Mode. However, I have always wondered what is left in the Shadow Defender area that is sectioned off. I don't know the proper name for it. Write cache or whatever.

ref 1079/1082 - is this on the roadmap or just a would be nice but not really planned. To me personally cleaning without scan would save a lot of time !

Also the possibility of adding $logfile and USN cleans to the one click internet trace clean.

Where can I get details of differences between normal/donors versions?

    Best regards

IIRC someone had that issue with CCleaner also with Site Preferences ticked, but it is not clear what option would need to be unticked in Privazer.

Yeah CCleaner will cause an issue if you delete Site Preferences but I didn't think I have had this issue with PrivaZer for that long, so either a change has been made with FF / CF, or PrivaZer.

I found this but where I've circled the top setting did not help.

    PrivaZer.PNG

I don't know if the bottom two would solve it but I've been messing with this problem long enough! I'm done with trial and error for now.

Edit: It looks like the bottom two options unchecked solves this but I'll have to monitor for a while to be sure it isn't something else.

I have a problem with Privazer on Windows 8.1 64bit machines that I manage for work. I installed Privazer on about 300 machines.

When I run Privazer and start the scan it hangs on Internet Browsing. It just stops. Won't progress any further.

I believe this has to do with Google Chrome. I've checked my work machines with Wise Disk Cleaner & DiskMax and it hangs on Google Chrome.

Only CCleaner works on the work machines. So it is a Google Chrome problem. Maybe Google changed something in the latest versions I'm not sure.

Can you investigate this error please. I want the work machines to be able to clean Google Chrome using Privazer as it's the best tool for cleanup.

yes "fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 1"

    @takiabtom,
cleaning without scanning is now possible in the new PrivaZer 3 when using the new feature : automatic cleanups.
It will clean without showing a scan result (for maximum speed).
We will make it possible for other cleanings as soon as possible.

    Many thanks, works fine now.
I just noticed the interface display some weird color palette, but it turn back to normal after I minimize and reopen it. The problem happens everytime I select "Go to main menu".
