I have just installed PrivateFirewall 5.0

This might be a silly question, but in Applications and Process Monitor, on the individual settings, what does the setting 'Filter' do?

'Allow' and 'Deny' seem self-explanatory, but what exactly does the 'Filter' setting do, and where should the filter setting be used rather than allow or deny?

The 'Allow' setting disables all rules for an Application or Process, allowing all traffic related to that Application or Process to and from your computer.

The 'Filter' setting applies any specific rules that have been created during normal usage of Privatefirewall. This is the default setting for Application rules and is the only setting that will activate all of Privatefirewall's protection functionalities. ***USE THIS SETTING***

The 'Deny' setting blocks all traffic to and from your computer related to that Application or Process.
