Seemed to be the points of interest coming from VFEmail, still we do not know what country there based in ? there taking US currency so perhaps US based, no ip masking, email header masking etc mentioned....

Seems countermail is still best option but I did like VFEmails one off payment option and its price, still no point if it does not do half what countermail does.

 

If you do a whois command from Network Tools, you will find that VFEmail.net is located in Waukesha, WI 53189 US

I have one solution that works great but unfortunately, their servers are in Canada.

Can Countermail and/or Neomailbox give me what I'm looking for

Yes, we do it the things you mention, using the apps K9 + APG. Server-side encryption for stored unencrypted emails, in all folders, i.e Sent, Drafts & Inbox etc.

Yes, we will do that in the future. But APG is working, we have not heard about any problems.

 

Kind of surprised we've gotten to 3 pages and Startmail hasn't been mentioned yet.

 

Maybe because its not open yet? They don't write anything about encryption methods. And if they don't have any PKI(?), incoming emails will be lying unencrypted...

 

I would much prefer @ixquick.com email address. We still don't know if they are going to be based in U.S. or in Europe.

Unfortunately, the whole enterprise is currently in German.

While they are not perfect, they might still fit the bill for some:

- No personal data required at registration.
- They claim payment is anonymous but only offer cash, bank transfer and paypal. They write that they make no traceable connection between payment data, which is not stored, and the account paid for. So I reckon one would have to pay in cash for greater anonymity.
- SSL/TLS with IMAP, POP3, Webmailer,CardDAV and CalDAV.
- AES-encrypted server HDDs.
- No IP tracking on its website.
- IP-stripping.
- No data trade.
- Employees have to adhere to privacy.
- German law applies. Not sure whether that is a good thing.
- Servers in Germany.
