  1. I 've been using for quite some time now a set of tools to clean-up my PC
Ad-Aware SE Pro, Spybot S&D and Window Washer 5.5

I downloaded the latest trial of Acronis Privacy Expert v7 build 541
    and used default settings
I ran the Entire PC Clean-up
    and afterwards
I ran my Webroot Window Washer 5.5

Window Washer still found additional items to clean-up
    215 internet related entries
    10 Windows related entries
    1.6 MB recovered

Next time I will run the same comparative test but the other way around

Since this is some sort of comparative and not an Acronis support issue it has been moved to a more appropriate forum.

    Hi Fred, ;)

I have never tried Acronis Privacy Expert ... but I can add a few other comments.

Webroots Windows Washer is a pretty decent program ... if when you run your reverse order comparison you find it's missed a few things that Acronis program found ... you can simply create a new plugin for WW 5.5 ... In advance mode > select the plugin wizard ... and follow along with the wizard. It can be configured to wash Folders, Files, and Reg Entries, be warned, be especially carefull with Reg Entries as it can cause more trouble than it's worth ... doublely true for a novice user.

Another App you may consider, that I use is CrapCleaner. It's freeware, and also allows you to create plugins. Also has a mini Reg. Cleaner built in. It's available here --> http://www.ccleaner.com/

    HTH,

    Steve
