I'm not sure I'd be too proud of being on that 6starreviews site; they recommend rogue software such as "Privacy Defender.

I am curious if anyone else agrees with their assesment? It is the only software
I know of that will clean all index.dat files without rebooting the computer.

If it is malware or dangerous in some way, i would like to stop using it. And if so, does anyone know of software that will clean all the index.dat files without rebooting? Any help is great.

    Case Closed.

I found out that there are 2 companies making software called Privacy Defender.
The one i use is from synergetic soft and apparently not the Rogue that the poster was referring to.

    Hello,
Just a question, why do you want to clean the index.dat?
