Hi Guys, I'm using a Canon i960 printer, connected via USB, on my XPSP2 Home computer. How can I determine, which driver software of Canon I'm using? Device mgr. & printer from control panel, fail to show the driver version. Also Canon fails to date its downloadable driver. Take Care Rico
hello rico, so in the drive tab on the cannon in device manager doesnt tell you the driver version? lodore
Hi Rico, Have you checked this page? http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/c...portDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=232&modelid=9388 If you click the Drivers / Software link, there are several options for the i960 series and it appears the current driver build is 1.73e for Win XP and Win 2K.
Hi Guys, Lodore - I don't see Canon anywhere in device mgr. its connected via USB Coldmoon - Yeah I saw 1.73e, if it had a date on it I would know, if I already have it or could update. Take Care Rico
Rico, On my Canon printers, if I navigate (WinXP) thusly: "Start", then "Settings", then "Printers and Faxes" right-click on the Canon printer, select "Properties, then the Mainenance tab, then select "Start Status Monitor", then select "Help", then "About", it will tell me the driver version. Regards, CatFan
Hello CatFan Give that 'CatFan' a cigar My driver version is 1.73e. I was curious about the driver version as sometimes the printer will for 2 - 3 minutes make all sorts of noises then start printing, other times it prints right away. I take it you like cats, my cat rules the house, or so it seems. Thanks & Take Care Rico
The noises are the printer periodically cleaning the nozzles; it does sound like things are out of whack, but it is normal. I'm in charge of the house, but it is a purely honorary position, as I am completely subservient to the cat's wants, needs and whims. Regards, CatFan
