    Hi there,

I like PrevX and I think it's great technology.
    Great cloud-based malware protection.
Smallest program download and app size.
    Light on resources, etc.

Better than any other cloud-based service (look at e.g. Panda cloud av)..

But the advertising is not that good.
Your marketing division should be expanded.

If you look at other companies, you will see what I mean:

The cloud technology is not new, f-secure is late, but the marketing vid is great. :D  :shifty:
I don't like and use F-Secure because it's huge and not really light on resources..

If I would be a novice/beginner and would see this ad, I would buy F-Secure AV.. ;)

    regards,

:) We agree, and we are constantly expanding our marketing. However, we still feel that the best way to reach users is via word-of-mouth, which is what we've focused on (developing strong products which encourage word-of-mouth :))

Thanks for the suggestions! (And the F-Secure video is quite nice :thumb: )

Moreover, the latest release of FS is indeed pretty good. I have it on my Vista laptop.
My current choices for real-time protection

Vista laptop: LUA, F-secure client security 9, TweakUAC
XP desktop: Defencewall personal firewall 3, Prevx with SafeOnline, Winpatrol PLUS

    + OpenDNS on router.

What do you think of logic? :)

    Hi, sorry for being late.

Nice that you know your pros and "cons" in your company, that's very important.
You know what you can and what you cannot that good.
Big firms like F-Secure or Symantec would never admit weaknesses in their company..

I like also your open communication with the customers and community.

Your support e.g. here in the forum is very good, almost perfect.

I saw your competition for the new "SafeOnline" feature, you had been searching for a nice sounding name, so you ask the community.

This shows us two things, first, your marketing power is not that big/great and as you said and I quoted, you don't put soo much power and money into it, because you are concentrating more into/on your technology and features.
Second you really want to hear what the community have to say and you involves them into finding/creating product names, which is nice.
You really care what the community want! :thumb:

But to be honest, to become as big as an player like F-Secure or Symantec, you really need to aggressively push marketing..

Besides that, I don't know in what way you want to drive your company, because being big as those two, isn't necessarily (only) positive..

    regards,

    Hello :)
Thank you for the feedback - I assure you that while we may not be approaching the average consumer actively with advertising, we definitely aren't static.

Yesterday we announced an exciting partnership with CPP - more details over here: http://www.sourcewire.com/releases/rel_display.php?relid=52562 and we are having stunning interest for SafeOnline from a massive number of financial institutions to help protect their end clients.

So while you may not see massive ads across your browser from Prevx or Youtube videos depicting some part of our technology, rest assured that we are not sitting still :) (or well, we actually might physically be sitting... but that is primarily because it is uncomfortable to work on a PC while standing :D)
