Are there known conflicts about the two?
somehow Prevx cannot verify addresses after I installed K9 web protection.

and there's one time that prevx says it cannot connect on the internet...

I don't know if K9 web protection acts as a local proxy

you hjave to go into K9 and settings and uncheck antispyware I think. I had a write up on it here about a year ago. But set up K9 as custom and uncheck the setting above and it will work.

You can also add the URLs: g1.prevxinfo.com, g2.prevxinfo.com, g...prevxinfo.com, g99.prevxinfo.com to the allowed list within K9.

If they support wildcards, you should be able to add g*.prevxinfo.com.

It's rather unfortunate that they haven't responded to our requests to get us allowed through by default but for the time being this is the best way around it.

Let me know if you have any questions!

AFAIK K9 ain't a local proxy, it just checks HTTP/HTTPS. Don't block non-viewable. Some update servers (including Prevx's) are rated as that. In the future, check the activity logs for blocked addresses. To narrow down your search, clear the logs then try updating (the blocked software) again. Put those addresses in the Always allow list or submit them for review. Putting the main domain in the allow list allows connections to its subdomains also.

Joe, for previnfo.com to be rated as Computers/Internet, change the 404/Forbidden page to a page with the Prevx logo like what's on prevxresearch.com. Surely K9 users wouldn't block Computers/Internet :D.

K9 will block catagories. I used it for 6 years. When you set it up if you choose custom for your catagories to set, one was spyware or something. Along with the porno and phishing ones. It did keep Prevx from working and I finally figured out that by unchecking it, Prevx was fine. K9 blocks a lot more then you know.

After unchecking the "non-viewable" in the categories... Prevx now works :D
I wish Prevx has this kind of technology too lol... so I won't be needing K9 :D

Doesn't SafeOnline cover Malware (drive-bys, links), Phishing already? Ad blocking in Prevx then? :D

You forgot to check Pornography! :D
