    Hi,

I'm using Prevx Free Trial for two days and now I get this error:

    Prevx.PNG

Is it supposed to do that in trial mode or it's really an error?

    is your machine infected?

the trial does not come with full removal.

the trial will however remove MBR Rootkits and Adware infections for free

No it isn't infected. It happens just after I do a scan.

Can I not use it for detection only without getting that error?

yeah, you should be able to.

the screenshot leads me to believe its found something on your machine and needs a licence to clean it up.

Could you please try uninstalling your copy of Prevx and ensure you've downloaded the version directly from http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp ?

Could you also let me know if you've cleaned any files using Prevx and possibly send a scan log by clicking Tools - Save Scan Results to report@prevxresearch.com?

    Thanks! :)

We've now identified the source of the error - you should be able to scan again and use it properly.

Let me know if it persists!

This exact same problem is affecting me also. I have uninstalled
and re-installed several times without success. The message about needing a license continues to pop up, and is quite annoying.

It is happening with 3.0.5.67 currently.

    Hello,
Could you please ensure that you're downloading the version of Prevx from our website officially? This warning comes when a user has been identified as possibly using a cracked version of Prevx and the user will be placed into this state until they purchase a license or contact support.

Yes, of course I am downloading directly from the official
page I find on the website:

    >>>> http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp

That is why I said I had the "exact same problem" as
    the poster before me..... :)

Apparently you have a bug in your algorithm to detect
"hacked" versions versus authentic versions -- Please fix
this soon as I really want to give Prevx a chance, but the
annoying message popping up every few seconds has made
    me uninstall it.

Could you please reinstall Prevx and then send us the file C:\ProgramData\PrevxCSI\csidb.csi (or C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\PrevxCSI\csidb.csi if on XP) to report@prevxresearch.com

This should hopefully let us find the cause of the warnings. Thanks!
