    Hi all,

I am new to the Prevx forum and had a few general questions on the different Prevx software packages.

I noticed there is a Prevx Cloud Security and a Prevx Cloud Anti-malware package that is being sold and I wondered what the differences were? Does Prevx Cloud Security just have the added "SafeOnline" plug in or are there other things too? Would just the cloud anti-malware one be fine?

Also, is 3.0 still the current release? I also see on the Hitman Pro website an offer for Prevx too and I wondered which package that was or if it was missing any modules...

Again, Thank You for taking the time to read this and for your help!

Prevx Cloud Security is mainly full Prevx SafeOnline thats Protects your Online Banking and Credentials and also detects malware and will remove adware for free http://www.prevx.com/safeonline.asp and Prevx Cloud Anti-malware is the full package of Prevx with SafeOnline that will have Full Protection and Removal of all malware http://www.prevx.com/freescan.asp - http://www.prevx.com/freescan.asp#guaranteed and the latest version is still v3.0.5.220 and the version from Hitman Pro is the Full Version of Prevx with SafeOnline and you get Hitman Pro for free!

    HTH,

@Tookerjeff: And to put your mind further at ease, I took advantage of the HitmanPro offer as my current Prevx license was about to expire. I can tell you there is no difference other than receiving the HitmanPro license for a year free!

    Hi TH & PatG,

Hey, thank you for the quick responses! :)

TH--Yeah, the price difference of the two in the store made me think Prevx antimalware had slightly less features than Prevx Cloud Security so I was a little confused on that. It sounds like the antimalware one actually is the better choice then if I understand you? I may just order it through your website too or use the Hitman Pro offer since it sounds like that is paired with the Antimalware one too. :)

Does the current retail boxed version of Prevx Cloud Antimalware already have SafeOnline too or is that just a special if I ordered it on your website? :)

    PatG--Good deal! :)

If I'm correct Prevx Cloud Anti-Malware is just detection, blocking and removal of threats and Cloud Security also contains the SafeOnline addon. I think TripleHelix got it wrong.

The boxed versions of Prevx Cloud Security have SafeOnline + Prevx 3.0, however, the Prevx Antimalware are only Prevx 3.0.

The Cloud Security version has more functionality and protection against information stealing trojan horses so I suspect you would want to have that :)

Let me know if you have any other questions!

The Amazon prices are really quite a deal compared to the ones at Prevx' online store!

shadek - yeah, usually the online prices at the vendor's own site will be higher for the most part, though just for 1 PC isn't bad for the complete security setup on the options page. Amazon, eBay, and rebates! :)

and Surfright's offer with Hitman Pro and Prevx (PatG said it's the full security suite too I guess) isn't bad either. :)

If I ordered it electronically online, is there an option to get a disc sent too (additional charge)? I didn't think the Hitman Pro offer would offer a disc but I may be wrong?

Also, the Prevx + safeonline is still around 900kbs I take it? :)

I'm not sure what Hitman Pro do but I believe Cleverbridge offers the ability to order a CD, although it won't be the same boxed version as is available on Amazon/etc. Prevx 3 is still 900kb so while it will certainly fit on a CD, we could send it on a floppy disk ;)

Ancient portable storage device used by humanity when no better alternative was developed yet :p
The most well known standard 3.5" size consumer version had a staggering amount of data storage: 1.44MB :D

Tell me you are only joking please, suddenly I felt so old.....

Enough for Prevx.exe but almost not for my scan logs.

had three of them if I remember correctly (still have the 500 and reg 64 stored away) awesome for the time.. Great multitasking, graphics, etc. underpriced as opposed to Apple's overpriced products. Way ahead of IBM's black and white and Apple's 8 color when released. Aaah memories.... :'(

    Sorry, getting off track.... :)
