Hey there, I am wondering if anyone has a solution to prevent other people to sniff your phones (android) traffic when connected to a public wifi?

I don't know how many times my phone automatically connected to a public wifi already.. one wrong app-sync and someone could have already sniffed my mail/facebook/etc passwords.

Anyone has a good way to secure yourself ?

I thought about using "Tasker" to encrypt my whole traffic via an ssh-tunnel whenever I am in an "unsafe" network.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

tasker can do this. I do similar but with OpenVPN. I have tasker set so if I connect to unprotected WIFI or 3G to auto-connect over my VPN. If the VPN disconnects all Data is disabled.

Also tasker can disable WIFI when you disconnect from your Access Point so you can make sure you never connect without you knowing it.

I never connect to open access points, but if I did, yeah, OpenVPN.
