So far, I run Avast free antivirus, Sandboxie free, Shadow Defender and Windows firewall.

Can I port my old SBIE 32-bit license to the new PC? It looks like it worked for ShadowDefender.

I had an active license for ShadowProtect on my old 32-bit PC which is out of function now. Can I use the same license on my new 64-bit system?

I had SpyShelter Premium on my old PC. I am hesitant to using SS on x64 system for two reasons: one is limited effectiveness of such software (HIPS and antikeylogger) on 64-bit systems and the other reason is that I read somewhere on this forum that SS uses some kind of "dirty trick" to bypass PatchGuard which might cause a crash when updating Windows.

Which version of Eraser would you recommend for Win7 x64?

I went back to using Eraser 5.8.8 because Eraser 6 had too many bugs. I believe there has been two more builds released since then that was suppose to fix a lot of the bugs. The last build that was released listed almost an entire page of changes, and bug fixes. I have not tried it because i am not having any problems with good old trusty version 5.8.8. For now i don't see any reason to upgrade to version 6. I'm using 5.8.8 on W7 64bit Ultimate without any problems. As far as what i'm using on my 64bit system then just take a look at my sig. I don't change my setup often. The only thing that I have added is Appguard because the beta is running good, and it is now 64 bit compatible. Everything is running great, and with my current set up a virus would be like shooting a BB gun at a tank lol

Amazing how much security software some people run. I'm running KIS on one machine and NIS on the other. The only time I've been infected during the last 8 years was while running NOD32 (it let a trojan through).

I used to run Shadow Defender and loved it but stopped using it due to instability (BSODs due to its driver). Unfortunately, you can't depend on it since it hasn't been updated since Feb. 2010 and no one has heard from the developer since then.

I also use Sandboxie or Returnil for surfing the "dark" side and testing software but not on a day-to-day basis.

it's still very solid and secure as hell.
    and very easy to use.
the only drawback is that you have to reboot to exit Shadow Mode.

    i guess nothing's perfect in life. ;)

What driver problem was you having with Shadow Defender? Was it a conflict with another driver on your machine? That's misfortunate because in my experience it has been more secure, and also more dependable for my use than all the other light virtualization Apps out there even without being updated since February. I'm not saying SD is better than all the rest, but it has been better for me. Returnil 2008 was my favorite security app until it became bloated with features I did not need. After that I switched to SD, and i'm glad i did so. Take a look at how SD has performed in comparison to similar products at this link. -http://ssj100.fullsubject.com/t166-light-virtualization-software-partial-sandbox-test

Nice thread. I'm trying to run only native x64 security applications on my desktop computer. My choices have fell on Prevx and Hitman. Recent tests over the last year including some internal tests I've done myself indicates they're very good against the threats I'm most likely to encounter.

Ive never read that. Here are some comparisons for the x64 Spyshelter:

Was previously running Norton 360, Spyshelter and Anvir Taskmanager on Windows 7 64 bit home premium. Spyshelter was annoying with the amount of popups so now i'm trying zemana antilogger as an alternative.

hmm, idk, i wuldnt bother with Zemana on an x64 system, so i wouldnt rely on it if i were u, Spyshelter might be annoying as hell, but its at least mostly functional on x64.

Its only annoying during the initial setup phase. After that its pretty much set and forget until you install something new. Zemana on an x64 system is worthless. Again you can refer to my PC Babble link in my previous post for a comparison between the two.

I was waiting for you to respond as the reason(s) for not using SpyShelter. I didn't want to assume you were using the free version. I've seen a few people using SpyShelter without any issues. As far as an Eraser, why not use CCleaner as it has secure erase methods, its native 64-bit now and free.

You will be glad to remove Prevx. It is either scare-ware or worst false positive-ware. It is nice to know that they give away the SoL (Facebook) free and then you have to pay to remove these scares!

    Best regards,

    KOR!

Running Online Armor, PrevX, Avira Prem and Mamutu in realtime

with Shadow Defender and MalwareBytes on demand.

Use OA Run Safe for all internet facing apps and Avira Web guard disabled.

Havent changed this setup in a while seems to be working fine.

Do you know what you talking about? Calling Prevx scare-ware and false positive-ware  FP's are at a all time low and if there are any Prevx with fix them if you send a Prevx scan log to report@prevxresearch.com faster then any other AV vendor would!
