Feel free to post any and all feature suggestions you have for FileChecker - I can't promise they'll get added right away (i.e. in the next version, v1. but I can promise that I will look over each and every one and certainly consider each and every one of them, and the plausibility of implementing them all.

Features discussed below that were added in FileChecker v1.7:
    -Add folder option

    javacool,

My main wish is to have an "add directory" and "add directory and all sub-directories" feature. The adding file by file can be monotonous :D .

    Regards,
    Kent

Having the option to add a directory and all sub-directories would indeed be very nice. :)

I'm wondering about this adding of a whole directory.
What about the possibility to add files by their extension from a certain drive, partition or directory; for example all your .exe files in your drive c.

An "add folder" feature is all ready to go for the next release of FileChecker. It allows you to add all files in a particular folder (not including subfolders) or select certain files in that folder to add based upon their extension ("exe" and/or "dll", etc). I believe you will like it. :D

    Any other feature suggestions?

    Hi- I love this program!
I would also like to see a way to use SHIFT and Ctrl to select a group of files. Aditionally, I would like to see an easy way of deleting files. If you make a mistake and include al files in a folder you have to delete them individually by clicking delete. If you have several hundred files you do not want included you have to click several hundred times to remove them.
    Thank you

I loooove File Checker! Features I would like to see added are...

    1) Ability to do on-demand scans.

    2) Ability to report *inexplicable changes* in number of bad sectors.

    aloha.........bellgamin

    only a small thing:

a different systray icon would be nice. =)

    the arrow feels too minimalist.

    but no big deal!

If you, or anyone else for the matter, would like to make a new icon for FileChecker - please be my guest! :) (I have been looking for someone to do this and have had no luck so far.)

Well, integration of anti-virus would be nice...but I don't know if it would come anytime soon, if at all.

I'll certainly look into it. :)

    Hi javacool,

The ability to print your watch list would be great!!! I tend to be redundant at times as I have TDS doing a CRC scan on startup and RegRun monitoring files also. This feature would make it so easy to compare my watch lists on different apps.

Thanks for the consideration in advance!!!

    Regards,
    Kent

    Hi javacool,

Also a count of how many files are being checked would be great also (for comparative reasons again) !!!

Both suggestions would be fairly easy to implement (and useful, at that). :)

You can be almost certain you'll see them in the next release of FileChecker.

How about the ability to remove the systray icon ? and SHA-1 hashes and MD5 instead of CRC32 ?

and increasing the max time from 1 minute to say 10, or totally user determined ?

Keep up the good work jaacool

Also how about doing a system hash, FileChecker takes the hash of all your system files .exe .dll .ocx .bat .com etc and does a check of them every 6 hours or so
