Possible fix for NOD32 & WS2008 R2/Win7 lockups?

    Thanks for the tip Allis. We have been vexed with that problem on 2008 server, particularly SBS, and have gotten nothing useful from ESET tech support. Why do you think that particular hotfix is applicable in a NOD32 environment?

    I'm gonna give this a try as these random lockups with NOD32 installed on my YSTEM ARE GETTING TO BE VERY annoying now.

    Considering that this affects XP too, and it happens EXACTLY when NOD32 retrieves the current definition (both 5418 and 5419 did this to me) you get a total lockup, even Task Manager jams.

    This patch is totally unrelated to these problems. I'd also like to point out, after you reboot, you don't jam again.

    But of course you should always run the "latest and greatest", heck if you weren't running that update already, you have bigger problems than jamming, like security holes and such.
