I've come across this one before, but didn't realise how extensive the list of portable apps has grown.

Plenty of good applications to play around with.

I've also come across this list before and wondered where the 'star-rating' comes from. o_O

Regarding the star rating, I wondered that too, as some I would rank higher.

    It's Lupo's page, so I'm betting it's Lupo's personal star rating. ;)

Nevertheless. Tons of applications, the list is massive. :thumb:

    Yep :thumb:

When you click on the 'all' link, so many different categories to choose from.

The portableapps site I rely on for producing the most stable programs, http://portableapps.com/apps , but found they have a link where applications are being tested and 'wrapped'.

Not final releases, but still, the majority work very well.

To access the test releases, you have to click on the release link.

This program is portable. Called 'Caffeine'.
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Miscellaneous/Caffeine.shtml

Basically you run the single file, and it loads up a coffee pot next to your volume/clock. When the coffee pot is full, it will press the shift key once every minute to prevent your system going into screensaver mode/going to sleep. The shift key doesn't cause any problems to any open files.

Or in the workplace, if you're away from your comp for a long period of time, looks like you're always working or you haven't been gone long. :)

When you double-click or 'empty' the coffee pot, it is turned off. Alternatively, you can right click and exit the program.
