I just recived a port scan notice from Sygate, I imagine since I got the notice, sygate blocked any attempt to connect to my PC? heres a log from Sygate:

    Somebody is scanning your computer.
    Your computer's TCP ports:
    445, 1025, 135, 2745 and 139 have been scanned from 67.39.207.173.

    Hi Comp01

Those are common ports/services being scanned these days.
Most likely someone looking for open file shares and the 2745 I believe is a port used by a backdoor related to the bagle virus.

Your firewall is blocking them, so nothing to worry about.

    Regards,

    CrazyM

    Don't worry about port scanning.
Some years ago, I had dialup internet connection and was online for an hour 3 days a week. However, I received port scanning notification three or more times a day. Many years have past, port scanning activity has grown, but I have been being OK.
Port scanning tools are available for everyone, especially for young novices dreaming to be a hacker. I was tracing the port scanning activity and was trying to detect the scanners. Nothing serious has been found.
