Hi does anyone know what is port monitoring for inside KIS 2009's network settings? Yesterday I turned off port 80 monitoring and used IE to go to a site with some JS based code trojan dropper. Then KIS 2009 gave me a warning about this site and stopped it from loading. I was wondering what extra protection that port 80 monitoring would add.

    Thanks.

Did Kaspersky's Web-AV or File-AV detect it?... (did Kaspersky detect the website or in temp/your browser's cache)?

Monitoring port 80 will simply scan all inbound traffic via port 80

According to the KIS report, it was caught under the Web Traffic events category as Downloader.HTML.Agent.ij for example. I also found that for a site like freewebtown KIS 2009 would block file links to it even if I uploaded a clean file to there myself. If I turned off port 80 monitoring then file links would not be blocked (unless of course the file was detected as a malware).

    Cheers.
