My homepage has been hijacked to this shady search engine along with posting several unwanted icons on my desktop and adding several unwanted things to My Favorites. I have run Adaware and Spybot, but neither get rid of the problem. I already have HijackThis, but besides the entries that actually say your-search.info, I have no idea what to delete. I read a posting series for someone else that ya'll helped with this problem, but my HijackThis log was different so I'm hoping ya'll can help me individually.

Also, let me say that I do not know that much about computers and consequently did not understand what was meant when you told this other person to reboot in "safe mode" by giving him certain command instructions, so it would be extremely helpful if that could be explained as well.

Thanks so much for your time and help.

Here is my HijackThis log:

Hi wwlassit,

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.your-search.info/search.html
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.your-search.info/start.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.your-search.info/start.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://www.your-search.info/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.your-search.info/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://www.your-search.info/search.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.your-search.info/start.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.your-search.info/search.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.your-search.info/search.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://www.your-search.info/search.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.your-search.info/search.html

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {46AE04C0-BCFA-4728-90E7-00EB4A8B3863} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [P2P Networking] C:\WINDOWS\System32\P2P Networking\P2P Networking.exe /AUTOSTART
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AltnetPointsManager] C:\Program Files\Altnet\Points Manager\Points Manager.exe -s

O19 - User stylesheet: C:\WINDOWS\sstyle.css
Then download and run CWShredder
Use the Fix button and follow the instructions provided by the program.

Reboot after doing so, preferably into safe mode and delete:
C:\Program Files\Altnet\Points Manager <= entire folder

And uninstall P2P Networkling in Add/Remove Software.

Regards,

Pieter

Pieter,

I do not have C:\WINDOWS\sstyle.css
on my hijackthis log, I have one that doesn't have anything after it, and one that has (HKLM) after it (as opposed to
, which one do you want me to get rid of?

Thanks
