please help, hijack log....

Microtrends online scan came up with the following virus/trojans on 7 files it could not clean:

Troj stilen.a
ADW ruledor.c
Troj Briss.h
Troj agent.cf
Troj Briss.a

I've deleted the files that had these infections, but I'm sure more is needed to clean them up. Here is my hijack log. Any help on cleaning these infection is appreciated.

As you have a number of issues, I suggest you proceed as follows:

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

After installing AAW, and before running the program, you NEED to FIRST update the reference file following these instructions.

Now do the following:

- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweak > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweak > Cleaning Engine:
Check: Let Windows remove files in use after reboot.

Press Scan Now

- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:

Now press Next to let Ad-aware scan your drives... It will find a number of bad files and registry keys. Right-click in that pane and choose select all Now press Next again. It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot. That ought to get rid of most of your spyware.

Also, did you followed the Trendmicro removal instructions which they publish about the respective virus and worms ?

When you've done all that, restart your computer, re-run Hijack This, and show us a fresh log. There will be more to do!

While I was waiting for a response, I took fixed some of the suspicious items in HijackThis, luckily with no adverse affect thus far.

I went and did the ad-aware procedure you described and so far it seems to have cleaned things up.

It seems to me that your hijackthis log is incomplete. It will help immensely if you post a COMPLETE log. All portions of the log contain VITAL information about your Operating System and browser.

The middle portions can be especially important when dealing with a browser hijacker such as you apparently are experiencing now, and they are NOT in the log you posted.
