Hi, please help or direct me to a thread with the similar problem.

I made a backup but it seems like the files aren't recognized by acronis. It appears that when i made the backup, i changed the file name but it did not (or i did not) add the ".tib" extension. It seemed to backup ok, but they are not recongnized by acronis (i can see them in windows explorer). i tried simply adding the .tib extension to all the files but it still doesn't recognize by acronis.

is there any way i can salvage this information? like i said, the backup completed & the files are there- but unrecognized.

Thanks very much for any help!!!

It might help if you post the version and build of TI that you're using and the list of the files TI created.

Was it an image backup or a files & folders backup?

i'm using acronis TI 9.0 (pc0487cd version dpv1.1 written on the cd).

it was a files & folder backup.

i'm not sure how i should list the files it created...i basically got 12 volumes of files that it created & was named as mybackup1(-12).june8 (as i named, but like i said, there was no tib extension)

i'm running windows xp if that's useful info...

    help!

The build is shown if you look in the Help->About menu item in TI.

The problem is most likely with the period in the filename. There have been posts about that. Try renaming all the files so that it is like "mybackup1.tib", "mybackup2.tib", etc. and see if that works.

Also, the # has to be right before the ".tib" or TI will say it's invalid. It can't be "mybackup3_june8.tib" for example.
