You would have imagined/wished that some of these very large Corporations (e.g. BBC,Sony and others), that have seen their websites so vulnerable to the most basic of SQL Injection attacks, might have had the foresight and business prudence to invest a bit more in better protection/monitoring services?
Or is it so difficult/elusive to maintain a "tighter ship"?

Dermot7, it could be, especially when determination from the dark side fuels the fire. See below.

Thank you JR, seems the more Sony tries to plug the holes at the same time every type of hacker has decided to have "fun", and make the whole thing snowball. Hope they can steady "the ship"...we'll see. :)

This continuing Sony episode should be a wake up call for all online vendors.

Who still has confidence in Sony online? (other than those affiliated)

I still say it's karma. But to answer the question even though I don't do Sony online I would certainly think twice before doing it if I were thinking about it.

Who's keeping count of these? Sony didn't learn anything in security, since they're suffering from the same attacks on the same unencrypted data.

One of the articles I read (don't remember where it is now) said that Sony's security was almost non-existent. You would think they would be battening down the hatches at this point.

It should as they are not the only ones to be hacked recently. It should also be a wake up call for people to not use the same passwords on multiple sites.
