There should be a box that you can check to stop getting the alert notification in Zone Alarm. Just click through the program tabs and there should be a screen where the alert notification option can be turned off.

Don't really know about ZA free, but with ZAP you just ensure the ICMP Echo box is unchecked in Firewall tab/Custom button. See screen shot.

Uuuhm ZA free should block pings without problems...
Are you sure you are actually not testing the router or modem/NAT?

To upload a screenshot the file must have a recognized extension; you can upload a .jpeg but not a .bmp. So if you are saving an image using Paint and it saves as a bitmap image, you must convert it to .jpeg before uploading it. You can do that by opening the file in 'Picture It' and then saving to the desktop as a .jpeg file. (That may be your problem, I'm just guessing).

If you are using the trial of ZASS you will have all the features of ZA Pro, together with some others. In particular you will have AV realtime protection - so you'd need to make sure you disabled (and preferably uninstalled) any other AV you may have on your system, otherwise you could have serious conflicts occuring.
