    Hello,

Ping from where: local machine, local network, remote network?

It does not mean you're insecure, it merely means your computer / firewall is configured to reply to pings.

    In technical terms:

Ping = ICMP type 8 message known as Echo request.
Reply to ping = ICMP type 0 message known as Echo reply.

So, if your firewall is set to answer Echo requests, then it will respond and notify the other side it's up. It means that your machine communicates with other hosts. It does not mean it's insecure.

Mind elaboration on the setup? What are you running?

    Mrk
