    Hi members:

I have a rather insignificant question, but here goes it:
I am using PCLinuxOS and have removed the mplayer plug-in for Firefox and the Mozplugger. I use kmplayer for all video and find the quality better and not much difference in the buffering time. Is there a security issue (or any issue) involved in not using the plug-ins? Am I downloading the media where I wouldn't with the plug-ins?

I don't know of any security issues with the plug-ins, or not using them.

No security issues, none whatsoever, checked with PCLOS bulletin and forums.

    Thanks my friends:

Arup, you obviously have superior web search skills as I was unable to find the answer.
My question was more out of curiosity than concern, as I assumed there must be a downside to not using the plug-ins. But I guess it comes down to personal preference.

If you don't use plugins for browsers, you won't be able to view movies or watch flash etc.

    Hello,
    No sweat either way.
It's only the matter of convenience, what you want, need or like.
