I tried out the PC Tools firewall a night or two ago and got a virus warning. Has this issue been fixed yet? I am assuming this was a false positive.

    Thanks.

Not sure if fixed. It was a temp file in the installer, I was informed. I just disabled AMON when installing.

Have you contacted ESET Tech Support with further details ?

Just to be sure...so I disable AMON. Then just install the PC Tools firewall and restart AMON? Then what about that temp file? Do I delete it or will NOD not recognize it as malware? Do you know the name of the temp file if I need to delete it?

    Thanks

No I thought I would try here first. I'll send them an email though.

I received an email from ESET on March 20th saying there was nothing that can be done unless the developers who control the NOD32 threat detection center decide to do something. Has it been determined if this is a true malware in PC Tools firewall or not? I don't think it would be beyond PC Tools to try something funky with their free firewall. But at the same time ESET should update NOD32 if this is not truly malware.

This was resolved within days of it being discovered, I was in direct contact with PC Tools and ESET Slovakia.

    Cheers :D
