    On reading all these sane posts by intelligent posters, I just hope the GPU and multi-Trillion bytes per second enthusiasts who cannot even read and comprehend the very concept of this thread have gone elsewhere by now..

    I want to ask:

    Does Windows 7 secure or even uses password hashes in the same way as XP?

    I hope this question is not off topic.

    This is a very interesting thread if only to raise awareness of password security.

    I'm thinking now that I should change my passwords more often! I'm lazy so I have not always done that. So say on online banking one should change psw's much more than on say a forum like this one. The only private info of any concern here might be PM's.

    In Europe some ATM's only accept 4 numeric digits!
