Password Protect EXE

Hi

I have a financial software application that does not have the option of password protecting either the data folder or the EXE.

Does anyone know of freeware application to protectect either exe or data folder, that is simple, preferably no install and reliable.

I have tried one or two but Avast pops up warning messages about trojans etc.

This kind of app. has too much false positive. Because the code that they need to use is similar at one point harmful app..
