How do you go about protecting KeePass with a password? I have that figured out. Now, how can I keep it from generating its own passwords? I have my own.

I guess I need something stronger than that. I have tried that and it doesn't work.

What happened Will - disabling didn't work? May take more than a single effort Will ... most peeps quit after one attempt.

I did that twice . The number of characters stay at 0 but it still generates passwords.

Where are you seeing the passwords? In the Entry/Edit form or the table of all the entries? If just in the table, when you have password masking on (Or username for that matter) it shows ********* even when the field is empty. It shows it for all so you don't know if a password exists or not. If it is in the Entry/Edit form, turn off the masking and see what shows up.

    whoops, guess this is irrelevant.

When I created the new profile with the characters set to 0 the ACCEPT at the bottom is greyed out. So the only thing remaining down there was cancel. So like a dummy I clicked it. Everything stayed there ( the new profile and the 0). But it didn't work. I had to go to the top right and X out.

    You feel there's more impact - forum-side vs pm? You've been sent multiples - sans follow-up ... I'm waiting ....

After I did what I said, it stopped creating passwords.
