    I tried to restore a partition on my HDD. Did quite a few times since I had multiple problems in the last 3 weeks. Restoring is no problem with TI8. BUT everytime I restore a partition, my Norton LiveUpdate! asks me for activation. Is this behaviour normal? Or am I forgetting something?

    Also when restoring a partition which I know has no files necessary for running OS or any apps - only data files image - from windows xp environment, i get the msg that partition is locked so cannot restore. I have to boot from the bootable cd and then restore. and when i am back to xp, norton jumps up to say i need to activate!!!

    Help me understand this.

    Thanks.

    Hello jhsurti,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please accept my apologies for the delay with the response.

    Please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Please also make a screen shot of the Device Tree application:

    - Download and unpack the Device Tree application;

    - Run the application;

    - Completely unfold the \Driver\Disk and \Driver\FtDisk branches;

    - Move the margin to the left in order to see all the items;

    - Make a screen shot;

    Send these files to support@acronis.com along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
