    Hello,
I recently had a virus my anti-v coulnt get rid, and i was forced to save my files into D, and use System Recovery. For some reason this has never happend to me before but everything was wiped on both partitioned drives. What im asking is why, and how to prevent it again.

    -Packar Bell imedia x2424
    -C:\ Vista home premium
    -D:\ Windows 7 beta

Welcome to the forum. When you say "System Recovery", whose recovery program did you use? If it was one provided by your computer manufacturer then it very well may have been programmed to restore the PC to the state it was in when delivered.

Each PC manufacturer has different ways of implementing a system recovery, so this would depend on what Packard Bell did. Does your PC documentation describe what happens when you do a recovery?

If you have Acronis True Image you could save an image of your PC for future disaster recovery.
