i was reading the new linux format on the train and read about this partitioning distro that's only around 30MB. i haven't used it, but i'll probably download it and try it out, it says it even supports vista now too. it also has some nice GUI programs like thunar (file manager) Terminal, Leafpad (text editor) and xfce plus lots more!

you can download the iso and burn it to a blank cd or put it on a bootable USB drive. if you use windows you can use this progam to burn the iso to cd - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/burncdcc.html

Hmmm...I wonder if it could partition a flash drive (unlike Windows). I have always heard you can partition flash drives under Linux, but I haven't messed with GPart or any of the Linux partitioning tools, however that small partitioning-only distro makes it look easy. May have to give it a spin.

OMG i just burned a copy and tried it out and it's really good  it's got loads of great programs and most of them have GUIs too, one program listed all the partitions on the HDDs and mounted the ones i told it to, it's got the GUI version of lshw (list hardware) to tell you about the hardware on the computer, it has a GUI 'find' program that lets you search for stuff on the mounted partitions and lots more, it's really good!!!! and it has GParted, the partitioner.

i have got the System Rescue CD, but i haven't tried it out yet, it looks like it has a few more things but not as up-to-date o_O

if i needed one to fix lots of computers i might use System Rescue CD, but i like Parted Magic because it has all the tools i need for my computers plus it has really good GUIs making things really easy and i use most of the tools it has anyway
