With my two younger children starting to use the internet more, it was time to find a parental filter. I think I came across a good free one. It is spyware/adware free (I scanned with 3 spyware scanners).

    http://www.snapfiles.com/get/iprotectyou.html

It is a robust filter. It uses about 10MB to run. If the child goes to a restricted site, it says page unavailable and there is a "You should not be here/Go do your homework" banner. I have used it for a day now and it seems to block any porn site that I have tried to bring up in the browser. am very impressed with the program so far. There is a Pro version on their website (newer program than what is listed on Snapfiles), with a much better GUI.

    Best Regards,
    Mike

Hi Mike, missing you down in the 'basement' ! ;)

About that program. I was thinking about it myself. For some reasons though I can't seem to trust it. Don't know why. :doubt:

The only one I DO trust is CyberPatrol.

    Unfortunately not FREE though.

I'm sure the're are still other good P.F's. out there. You just have to look...:)

    Hi Nat,

Sometimes I get very busy, and if I sit at this PC I just never seem to get up, so I try to saty away when there work (yuck) to do.

I looked at Cyberpatrol, and I do not mind paying. Its just that I have most of my single licences expiring in the next few months and I am going to go to a suite with parental filter. My wife has finally said she would learn PC security if I had it all in one box, and it was easy to use.

I will add one funny thing about iProtectYou. If you click a link to another PF, then it disallows the page from loading. Smart of them;)

Well I am pretty much caught up on everything now, which (or in your case witch;) ) is why I am around here more lately. Now I can go back to being my lazy self:p
