i search the net with MSN explorer??

i see this mozilla/ or firefox??...........is this something people use other than IE or MSN.... very computer illiterate here

thanks to you gals/girls i run spybot, and SWB also HJT.

would mozilla be beneficial is it that much quicker?
what version?
am i going to have to re-install, triple lutz download anything again after i install mozilla

any info on the matter appreciated.

Mozilla & Firefox CAN be quicker, and they are definatly more secure then IE

u can find them both here http://mozilla.org

Current Versions:
Firefox 0.9
Mozilla 1.7

Differences between them...
Mozilla is a suite, with lots of other things besides a browser, like email and other things

Firefox is just the browser

Both i believe use the mozilla engine (source)
Both are free (open source) which means u can freely edit the source and make your own version of the browser

I find firefox faster than mozilla. But both are slower than Internet explorer, when starting up.

 

The slower startup speed is due to the integration of IE in Windows. There no smartstart function in Mozilla.
Once it running, Firefox is pretty quick and, as said before, more secure: because of the integration in Windows, a hole in IE is also a hole in Windows.

also... if your using extensions.. some extensions can slow down the overall performance of the browser

TBE = Tab browsing extensions is infamous for that.
