Panda Cloud free without webfilter ?

Panda Cloud free got a very good webfilter which blocks most of the malicious files and links. But how good is the AV without the webfilter ? Does the cloud signatures detect all the malicious files detected by the webfilter too ?

I would say no. URL filters often block stuff based on the URL alone, regardless of what is the actual binary attached to it as a download. Which is a) pretty much bullet proof against fast mutating malware originating from the same web address and b) is fast and easy way to prevent infections with minimal effort.

If that annoying toolbar is bothering you, you can remove it and keep the URL filtering. Just uninstall it through Programs and Features menu and during uninstallation, make sure you DON'T also uninstall the URL filter. It's unchecked by default so you can't do it wrong if you just hit next and uninstall so...
